Lamb Sticks With Herb Yoghurt Dip

Ingredients

  • 750 g lean lamb fillets, minced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 2 -3 teaspoons fresh mint, chopped
  • 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon red wine
  • 500 g unsweetened plain yogurt
  • 2 -3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 -2 tablespoon parsley, chopped
  • 1 -2 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
  • 2 -3 tablespoons fresh mint, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 combine lamb, onion, garlic, wine, spices and herbs in bowl.
  • 2 mix well.
  • 3 shape enough mixture (about 1 tablespoon) around 1 end of the skewers.
  • 4 refrigerate.
  • 5 just before serving: grill sticks on bbq until well browned all over and cooked through.
  • 6 herb yoghurt dip: combine all ingredients in bowl and mix well.
  • 7 serve lamb sticks with the herb yoghurt dip.
  • 8 tip: if you wet the skewers before barbecuing, they will not burn.
