Madame Soohoo's Fish And Rice (rice Cooker)

Ingredients

- 1 1/2 lbs fish fillets, broken into 2 inch pieces
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic or 2 teaspoons minced ginger
- 3 green onions, sliced
- 1/4 cup cilantro leaf, chopped
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 3 tablespoons brandy or 3 tablespoons dry sherry
- 1/8 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 1/2 cups medium grain rice
- 1 3/4 cups water
Recipe
- 1 place the fish pieces in a shallow bowl or baking dish.
- 2 whisk together the marinade ingredients (garlic through sesame oil), and pour over the fish.
- 3 marinate for 20-30 minutes at room temperature, or up to 4 hours in the refrigerator- no more than 4 hours, or the fish will get mushy.
- 4 rinse the rice very thoroughly in a strainer, then place in the rice bowl.
- 5 add the water, and stir to combine. place the fish pieces on top of the rice, then add any remaining marinade.
- 6 set the machine for the regular cycle.
- 7 when it switches to 'keep warm', let it sit for 5 minutes, then serve immediately.
