Ingredients

- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1/2 lemon, juice only
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- 2 small onions
- 2 medium apples (tart)
- 8 herring fillets, marinated
- 2 teaspoons dill, fresh or
- 1/2 teaspoon dill weed, dried
Recipe
- 1 sauce:
- 2 blend thoroughly sour cream, yogurt, lemon juice and sugar.
- 3 salad:
- 4 peel onions and cut into thin slices.
- 5 peel and quarter apples, remove cores and cut into thin wedges.
- 6 blend onions and apples with sauce.
- 7 in a dish arrange herring and apple-onion mixture in layers.
- 8 cover tightly and marinate in refrigerator for 5 hours.
- 9 sprinkle with dill before serving.
