Maple Planked Salmon With Spice Rub

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried ancho chile powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 24 ounces salmon fillets
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup

Recipe

  • 1 combine first five ingredients in a small bowl.
  • 2 sprinkle fish with salt and rub with the spice mixture.
  • 3 heat grill to 350 to 400 degrees.
  • 4 place soaked plank on hot grill and close lid.
  • 5 flip plank over after 3 minutes and continue to heat for 3 more.
  • 6 when light smoke develops place salmon fillets on hot plank, close lid, and cook for 10-15 minutes or until medium rare (or desired doneness).
  • 7 drizzle fish with maple syrup and serve.
  • 8 remember salmon will continue to cook after removing the plank from the grill.
