New Orleans Chicken With Creamy Wine Sauce

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 chicken breast fillets (@ 1 pound)
  • 6 tablespoons flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3/4 cup wine
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon
  • 1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 3/4 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 3/4 cup diced celery
  • 1/4 cup bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Recipe

  • 1 rinse and pat dry the chicken.
  • 2 mix together flour, salt, pepper and paprika.
  • 3 dredge chicken in this.
  • 4 melt 2 tbsp only of the butter in frying pan until bubbly.
  • 5 brown chicken on both sides.
  • 6 set aside.
  • 7 melt remaining butter in pan.
  • 8 stir in remaining flour mixture until smooth.
  • 9 add wine.
  • 10 stir until smooth.
  • 11 stir in chicken bouillon, poultry seasoning, bay leaf, mushrooms, onions, bell pepper and celery.
  • 12 add chicken breasts.
  • 13 cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes.
  • 14 remove chicken to a plate.
  • 15 stir in sour cream into pan.
  • 16 cook just until heated through.
  • 17 pour sauce over chicken and serve.
